I bought my first ever set of headphones because of Warzone

I’ve been editing for years but I never really felt the need to buy headphones. Up til now, I’ve always edited with earphones. Not any premium earphones too, but the one you get free from buying your mobile phone! And then came Call of Duty: Warzone.

With the pandemic hitting us bad, people have more time to play games and COD Warzone has been making noise as the best Battle Royale game thus far. I’ve played back during PUBG games but never really felt the need. I enjoyed it but enjoyed it more with headphones on!

What I bought:
Steelseries Arctis 3

Other headsets I considered:
SteelSeries Arctic 7 Wireless
Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless
Logitech G433

One can’t help but look up reviews and Steelseries’s Arctis line seems to be dominating this space for gamers. The only reason why I went for the 3 instead of 7 is simply because I find it impractical to go wireless and throw money on something I felt like buying simply because of a game.

The main advantage was a good mic, that’s pointed directly to your mouth. This means good comms between team members, and no unwanted static and background noise. The second benefit was the noise cancelling feature, which made all the sounds ingame much more crisp. It helps a lot to know where the enemies are when you listen closely. As a bonus, I simply love the retractable mic that comes with a mute button to toggle.
