San Beda finally moved it up a step from being granted and classified by CHED as a College, and I am more than honored to have been invited as a speaker for its first Career Conference as a University, down at the newly built auditorium in San Beda University Rizal Campus.
I may have always had the words to speak to people and talk about whatever, but speaking on stage in front of young minds who are looking for something interesting – I may either make or break their decisions. Talk about pressure. Nevertheless, I managed to pull a couple of laughs, as well as made them all feel my pain when I told them how I let go of a once-in-a-lifetime all-expense-paid trip to NYC I won under Pokemon. But yes, the experience is indeed satisfying, and I can’t help but feel relieved people actually got up and asked me questions after my talk. At least, in that regard, you feel like maybe some did listen!
I can’t begin to tell you guys how much a treat it is for your teachers to become your casual friends after school. And it really is heartwarming for them to see you and realize how you’ve grown in your own unique way – you’ll feel it.
Absolutely grateful for SBU for giving me a chance to speak up and share my experience as a multimedia artist. To Sir Coloma and Ma’am Adriano for inviting me first and foremost. To everybody from the guidance office for taking good care of us, to all the teachers who spared a lot of their time to reunite with us, and to the students who took time to soak up a bit of what I had to share.
Thanks, SBU!
UIOGD. Animo!
