Hoops for Hope

A good start of the year by lending a hand.

Speaking with Blue Crew Clothing, I did a probono shirt design, which will be sold tomorrow in the charity basketball game to be held at the San Juan Arena. All funds raised will be donated to the victims of recent Typhoon Sendong.

The game will be held tomorrow, Jan 6, 2011, at the San Juan Arena featuring names like Kiefer Ravena, Chris Tiu, Allan Caidic, James Yap, Rico Blanco, Xian Lim, Champ Lui Pio, RR Garcia, Jon Hall, Jason Sabio, and more.

Concept of the design is to uplift the provinces via the game of hoops.

The hand practically represents everybody pitching into this charity basketball game. Doodles are on it to signify a friendly and warm message of brotherhood and ‘bayanihan’ among the Filipinos who are eager to help bring some relief to their brothers and sisters in need.

A subtle scale like design is on it to somehow represent the new year (dragon sign) and new hope for these people.

The Water waves also stand as a net if seen upside down, hence the crisscross marks on it. In a way, the ball was shot through the net from down under for the uprising of the provinces.
